IMPORTANT AGENCY UPDATE

April 14th, 2020

What happened?

Royal Rose Artist Agency is a group project for senior Music Management students at Millersville University. As we reconvened this semester, a bulk of our semester was spent planning events that would take place in mid-March and late April. Our timeline mainly consisted of applying for grants, budgeting travel needs, and booking an unofficial showcase at SXSW 2020 in Austin, Texas. By early March news broke out that we would be unable to attend because the festival as a whole was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since then, countless events have either been canceled or postponed, academia is online-only, and everyone is working from only going outside for essentials.

What is going on now?

Lots of stuff! Even if concerts and tours are canceled artists are finding creative ways to play music. Dozens of artists are joining together to create “festivals from home” or “concerts from your couch”. Billboard is routinely updating a list of shows they find here. For SXSW, Amazon Prime is joining the conference to release any film that would’ve been announced at their festival. Record labels, the Recording AcademyLiveNation, and more have all created funds to help anyone in the music industry that has been furloughed or laid off during this time.

What is Royal Rose doing?

Just like the rest of the music industry, we’re making the most out of this situation and refocusing our objective of building artists’ careers to an online platform. Check out our Spotify for new playlists featuring our artists and new artists that we will be working within the next coming months. More updates to follow. -RRAA

LANCASTER, Pa. (January 16, 2020): On February 7, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., We The People First Fridays presents Lancaster Gospel Roots, a powerhouse celebration presented by a dozen artists that features inspirational music, dance, spoken word and live art honoring the influence of gospel music and its origins on creative members of our community. In the Regitz Gallery, an opening reception will be held from 6 – 8 pm for the exhibit “Jam Session” by visual artist Ceasar Westbrook. Both events take place at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster, and are free and open to the public.

LANCASTER GOSPEL ROOTS

Artists featured in the performance include the Rebelchique Dance Co., Essence Dance Troupe, singers Ahmad Williams, Dana Baker, Amy Shaffer and Rachel Farmer, hip hop artist Saeso and others. Art will be created on stage during the event by Keisha Finnie.

CEASAR WESTBROOK

A Pennsylvania based artist mainly using oil and acrylic mediums, Ceasar focuses on semi-realistic and abstract paintings that tie into daily social and political issues. His use of vibrant color is the focal point in many of his pieces. Ceasar currently does commissioned work for collectors throughout the country, some of which are well known celebrities and musicians.

We the People First Fridays is the Arts at Millersville’s series in which local artists representing the great mosaic of our community offer presentations of their work in performance genres as diverse as our nation. For more details and our entire calendar visit ArtsMU.com

Kiana Corley Apart of Martin Guitar SC-13E Release

January 16th, 2020

1/16/2020
Kiana Corley joined dozens of other artists to release Martin Guitar's newest creation: the SC-13E. According to their website, "
The first thing you’ll notice is the revolutionary new cutaway. With our patent-pending Sure AlignTM neck system, we removed the heel, providing full access to all 20 frets. No more contorting your hand to reach the high notes. Now you can comfortably play the entire fretboard.
If all that access isn’t enough, the asymmetrical body provides a balanced output, so you get more gain before feedback. Don’t worry about playing loud on stage. Now you can turn it up.
The SC-13E is a performing guitarist’s dream. It is equipped with a new, low-profile velocity neck that ergonomically accommodates your hand, giving it the comfort and playability of an electric. No need to bring multiple guitars to a gig. Now you can bring just one and play longer."
